The Plague of Political Will
BBC News reports that negotiations between Sudan and South Sudan, which broke away as a separate state last year, have reached an impasse.
Disputes over oil are nothing new in the region, and the border of the countries is also in question as tensions increase, rousing concerns that the bloody civil war between the countries, fresh in memory, could reignite.
Income Tax and the FCO’s “Framework”
The line-item in the contract about re-aligning government’s revenue base is causing some concern in the community. Is it a coded way of ordering our MLAs to introduce Income Tax and/or Property Tax? Not necessarily. I believe it is merely a reminder that UNLESS Public Expenditure is reduced, one or both of those taxes will be unavoidable
Pressing on towards readiness for God
whatever it is, that our preparations, fumbling or confident, must be left behind, and we must then be concerned only with putting forth what is divinely ordered, or true, or strong, or restored, or elegant.

The Christian call to suffer
Suffering has been an indelible component of the human story from time immemorial. Disease, for instance, has affected man from our earliest records of his existence.
Transforming dissonance to resolution by grace - Rev. Nicholas Sykes
Although a good work of fiction follows certain guidelines or rules for itself, it will keep the interest of the reader by its use of the unexpected. The unexpected elements in the plot or perhaps in the nature of the characters cause the rules or the underlying pattern to be worked out in a way that engages our interest.
EVERYBODY'S BUSINESS - Would more foreign retirees be good for Cayman?
At a time when some of our retailers and wholesalers are starving for lack of customers, it is disappointing that our politicians continue to resist all proposals to attract more expat retirees. Meeting the test
All who are baptised into Christ are pledged (whether they remember it or not) to a policy of an unremitting battle against sin and the devil.
