Joe Zahn, Chad McGhee from CashWiz and The Honourable Premier McKeeva Bush at the recent opening of the company’s Bodden Town store.

CashWiz, Cayman’s only full service consignment business, recently opened its second Grand Cayman location in Bodden Town.

Vice President of Operations Chad McGhee felt that it was a significant move in the company’s ongoing expansion efforts. “We have chosen the Cayman Islands as our Caribbean headquarters for many reasons and

e felt a sense of pride in being able to open our second local store in Bodden TownThe store has been well received by the local community,” Mr McGhee stated.

Located next to Pirate’s Cave on the main road, the CashWiz store has already seen significant traffic in the months that it has been open. Store manager, Leianne Macdonald, is proud to be offering CashWiz’s services in Bodden Town. Having been with the company for over a year, Ms Macdonald demonstrated her personable skills and was quickly promoted to manager and trained in the George Town store. She noted, “There is never a boring day on the job. Bodden Town is full of a lot of older people that have character and a lot of knowledge. That makes my job very interesting and I learn something about the district and people daily”.  The store’s clientele ranges from tourists, day workers in the area and people who reside in the outer districts who often stop by on their way home in the evenings.

Recently, the Bodden Town store had a grand opening event that was well attended by the local community. The Premier, The Honourable McKeeva Bush officiated at the ribbon cutting ceremony and toured the facility. The Premier said that he is proud to support any business that can find the resources to expand in these economically challenging times and in particular outside of the financial hub of George Town as the other districts could benefit from small business expansion.

CashWiz works closely with the local police and also invited them to the store’s opening. Mr McGhee stated: “It’s important that our customers understand we only intend to run a legitimate business that deals with honest customers. We have policy and procedures in place to prevent and assist the police with apprehension of unsavory persons if necessary.”

CashWiz is headquartered in the Cayman Islands and owns and operates a number of “consignment shops” across the Caribbean region. CashWiz offers customers an opportunity to buy, sell and trade all items of value including jewelry, electronics/computers, gold, vehicles, property, personal motor crafts, power tools and appliances. Customers are able to obtain short-term cash advances against items or outright sell them to the company for resale. CashWiz operates 10 shops in the Cayman Islands, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, Antigua and several in Jamaica. Further expansion is anticipated in 2012 in Barbados, Trinidad, BVI, Grenada and St Lucia.
